Chocolate 3D Printing, an Australian startup, is selling a kit to 3D printers which can make 3D printed logos for companies including Microsoft, Apple and Google.
The kit includes a 3D printable design kit, instructions, tools, a 3d scanner, and stickers.
“It’s basically a kit that you can download, print out and have a 3 dimensional printer print the design on,” co-founder and CEO Chris Bowers told TechCrunch.
3D scanning is the process of scanning a file of data and producing a 3-D model of it.
It can also be used to produce 3D designs, but Bowers says 3D scanners are very slow.
The 3D scanner in the kit works by scanning a printed 3D model, and then printing it on a plastic extruder.
Once the 3D scan is complete, the printed 3d model can then be printed on a regular printer and placed on a printer bed.
The process can be automated and, in some cases, automated to a degree, Bowers said.
The idea behind the kit is that, as 3D-printable files become more popular, so will more and more logos being printed, but this can only happen if the files are made of the correct material.
In the future, the idea is that these files could be printed using an inkjet printer and the logo could be 3D scanned on top of the inkjet.
There’s also a concept for making 3D models that are printed with an inkscanner, which would allow them to be scanned with an ink-jet printer.
The logo can be printed by printing out the 3d design file, which the printer uses to make the 3-dimensional printable object, Bower said.
In this way, the printer can produce a 3rd-party 3D file.
The printed 3-d file is then placed onto a plastic nozzle that can be used for other purposes, such as for cutting, and the printer then prints the final design on a flat surface.
The printable 3d file can then also be printed onto a regular 3D object.
3-point printable logo in the process The first kit, the 3DSketch, costs $199 and is available for pre-order now.
Bowers expects to ship out the kit by the end of April.
He said the next version of the 3dsketch will have 3-level printable logos, which means you can print up to 10 logos on a sheet of paper.
He expects the software will be free and open-source.
“We’re not doing the free software for this because we want people to build their own custom 3D projects,” Bowers explained.
The next version, the Stitch Maker, will be available for $299.
“The Stitchmaker is the next step in the evolution of 3d printers,” Bower explained.
“I don’t know how we’re going to make that transition but we want to make it as easy as possible.”
3D logo printing with a 3DS printable kit The next step is to create a 3dsprintable kit which will allow you to print logos using your existing 3D files, he said.
“If you already have a lot of 3D design files, the easiest thing you can do is to print your own 3D kit,” he said, “then you can add your 3D shapes to them and you can get all the features of a 3DPrint kit, including the printing of a full-colour image and the ability to add your own shapes to your designs.”
The next edition of the Stylist will be released in May, he added.
3dskit is now available for sale on the company’s website.
You can check out the full product description on the website, and Bowers will be in Australia on May 16 to announce the release of the software.
3d printable printing with 3DSkit The next big step for 3dsky is to allow 3d printed designs to be created using the software as well, Bersons said.
A 3ds printable version of 3ds kit will be sold separately, he explained.
Berson said he’s confident the software can be a powerful tool for the 3DPending world.
“A lot of the features that you need to do in 3d are very similar to what you would need to be able to do with traditional 3D modeling software,” he explained, adding that the software is “much more flexible” than software that is “built around 3D modelling”.
Bowers hopes the software allows 3D designers to make a lot more design work on their computers, adding: “The biggest thing that’s going to change with 3ds software is that the file size will go down.”
